- This sounds like a termination problem.

- Have you used external SCSI devices before?

- Some A3000s came with SCSI termination resistor packs on the motherboard.
- Some external devices work OK with these still fitted (although technically
- they shouldn't). The Zip only works (reliably) with them removed.

- The resistor packs are RP802, RP803, RP804. Two of them are just behind the
- internal SCSI connector on the motherboard. The 3rd is beneath the equipment
- tray (and is awkward to remove).

- Check whether you have empty sockets behind the motherboard SCSI connector.
- Mail me if you want more details on how to remove the packs (especially if
- they are soldered in rather than socketed).

- Once the SCSI bus is terminated correctly, HDToolBox will do everything you
- need.
